A Springtail eating from a leaf

A small Springtail (Symphypleona, Collembola order) appr. 2mm long. They are called Springtail because they have an abdominal, tail-like appendage, the furcula, that is folded beneath the body to be used for jumping when the animal is threatened (info from Wikipedia).
